One year!!!

Well, again I'm a horrible blogger. And I really don't even know how many people were reading this. But since I have a few minutes, I'll update quickly. Asher turned one on June 2, 2010. He is such a big boy! 23 pounds and 30 1/2 inches long. He is close to walking. Crawling and cruising all over the house. We don't get much done because we are constantly chasing him. He is quite the character. He is very picky. He sleeps good. He has a temper. But hes soooo silly. He likes making "quack quack" noises and loves the dogs. He doesn't cuddle, at all, but he is starting to give us kisses. He would live outside if he let him. He has no temperature gauge (so the 100 degree Texas heat doesn't phase him). He loves books. LOVES them. We read books all day. He also loves dirt, anything with wheels and pulling the blinds :) He is all boy. But we wouldn't have it any other way.
In another exciting Garrett family news, we are expecting baby #2. We call it Baby Dos. We decided not to find out if this one is a boy or girl. It's due September 10. I'm 29 weeks along already. Its gone by really fast! Some days I think its a girl, some days I think its a boy. The best part about having them so close in age is that we really don't have to get many new baby things. We registered for a handful of things, but otherwise we'll be able to use all of Asher's stuff. I'm not sure how Asher will adjust to being a big brother. I've held other babies in front of him to see what he'd do but he doesn't show much emotion, so thats good. I guess we'll see in September if he has a little brother or little sister!

Take care. And lets be real, I probably won't update again soon. Haha. But feel free to email me anytime! I love showing off pics of Asher!

I'm a terrible blogger...

So sorry for not keeping up with the blog. SOMETHING has kept me quite busy the past few months. Haha! Asher is now 7 months old. He weighs over 18lbs and is perfectly healthy. We had a wonderful first Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's as a family. We went to South Texas for Thanksgiving and New Year's but stayed at our house for Christmas. We had a blast. Spending our first Christmas as a family at home was wonderful. Of course we missed everyone but we got on Skype alot so everyone could see Asher! He got so many wonderful gifts. We are so blessed.

He is really starting to turn into a little person. He is still really quirky but is starting to entertain himself better which helps me out a lot. He loves his jumper. We are currently working on crawling :) although I'm not sure I'm quite ready for that. He already keeps me on my toes.

He sleeps 12 hours each night! WOO HOO! We have our bad nights occasionally but I really can't complain. We've come a long way.

He loves the dogs. I wish they showed him just a little bit more attention but they are hesistant. I think the random yelling scares them. Speaking of yelling, he is so loud. SO LOUD. It's cute but I don't know where this voice is coming from.

He also already has two teeth. They came in at 5 months and he's been working on the next ones for awhile. I hope they come in soon because he is really in pain sometimes.

I'm really enjoying staying home with him and constantly taking pictures. He's a mess but we have fun together. Here are some pictures :)

4 1/2 months

It's been too long since I updated my blog so here I am. We have been BUSY lately. We just got back from visiting everyone in NC for almost 3 weeks. Asher got to meet all of our family and friends and he loved it. Everyone loved him too of course. He is over 16lbs now and over 25 inches long. He sleeps through the night, for the most part and he is starting to be soooo much more fun. He can play with lots of toys and he giggles and "talks". He sleeps in his big boy bed and he FINALLY loves his carseat. Which makes my life a little easier.
We started giving him rice cereal and carrots and sweet potatoes. That's been interesting. And I'm looking forward to started more solids. I can't believe he's already getting so big and independent. Well I will try to update more often. Hope everyone is doing well!!

3 months!

Well the little stinker is over three months old now. He is still growing like a weed. He is smiling so much and starting to giggle more. He can sit up on the couch or against something without falling over now. And he has learned how to stick his thumb in his mouth. He can hold onto toys and has a favorite stuffed animal already. He tries to eat it but hey, it keeps him happy! Haha.
He is starting to sleep better. We started sleep training him a week ago and he is now sleeping good from 9-12 then he eats and he sleeps from 12:30 to 5:30 or 6. And get this....he is now sleeping in his CRIB! He took the move to his crib like a champ. Its just the sleeping, not knowing how to fall asleep, and stay asleep on his own that we are battling now. He is so quirky.
His grandma and grandpa Garrett were here this weekend. They got in a great visit and were excited to see the lil guy! We'll be in NC in a few weeks so we'll be seeing the whole family a lot. We can't wait for everyone to meet him.
I can't believe he's almost 4 months old! Ahhhh he's gonna be crawling and getting into everything before we know it.
I'll update again soon!

Overdue Update

SORRY! I've been terrible at updating. Just shows how busy my son is keeping me! Haha. Asher is almost 3 months old. I can't believe it! He is getting so big. We are guessing he weighs around 15lbs by now. He is so cute and precious. We can't stop staring at him.
He has been quite a handful though. He has reflux AND colic. Makes for some long days for mommy. But it's slowly getting better. And we've learned how to deal and get through the days one at a time. I hate it because I can tell he is in so much pain sometimes but there is nothing we can do about it. The pediatrician said he'll grow out of it by 4 months. So hopefully he'll be a happy, healthy perfect baby by October!

He is sleeping about 4 hours at a time at night. Sometimes less. I think his reflux bothers him and wakes him up a lot. He spits up all over himself and gets upset. So that's a work in progress. Luckily Matt lets me snooze for a couple of hours every other day or so. A two hour nap makes such a big difference!
We are making a big trip in October. Right after Asher's 4 month appointment, we are driving to NC. Asher and I are staying for 3 weeks! And Matt will be back and forth for work. We are so excited to see family and friends who haven't been able to make it to Texas yet. I can't wait for everyone to meet the lil guy. He'll be so much bigger by then. And I'm sure more of his personality will be out.

Speaking of personality. I'm afraid he's taking after his mom and has a slight temper :) but its cute. And he is so quirky. Things have to be JUST RIGHT for him. Lets see. He is starting to react to his toys and he's trying to reach for them. And he LOVES the TV. It's terrible that he already watches it but he really does love it. Baby Einstein is on a lot. He's in awe of that DVD. And he likes sports. Football, baseball and of course racing. I guess the bright colors catch his attention. He likes looking in mirrors. And he LOVES the bathtub. He gets to kicking and can't seem to stop and then gets overwhelmed. It's so funny. He's a mess.

Ok enjoy pictures! I'll TRY to update more often. Just remember, I have a high maintenance baby! Haha.
